The Luxmanor Rockville Maryland community was established in 1938 around the Capitol Transit Company bus line.  When the line was threatened to be shut down, 9 homes fought it and formed the Luxmanor community.  The community association now represents more than 650 families living within its homes.  Most of the homes within Luxmanor are Colonial and Rambler styles. These mostly 3-4 bedroom homes sit on approximately a half acre of land.  It’s all a short drive to Cabin John Regional Park with Athletic fields, and the beautiful Shirley Povich Baseball Field, a full-service ice-skating rink, tennis courts, picnic areas, over 5 miles of biking & hiking trails, camp sites, and a half-acre dog park.

The community has the use of different public pools; Tilden Woods and Montgomery County Aquatic Center.  Windermere’s pool is restricted to members only and guests of the Heritage Walk HOA.  Most of the residents of Windermere are members of the Heritage Walk HOA, and some are not.  The residents of Luxmanor are not… including many who live on Rosemont, even though they are the same homes as those within Windermere.  The houses on Rosemont are in the Luxmanor subdivision.  – Luxmanor citizens association
